John Abraham needs to be applauded for backing this movie. Movie starts off with a little bit of background on the protaganist and how he is failed by the system. It catches pace once Boman Irani is introduced and how John builds a team to test the nuclear bomb. The climax is obvious considering we know the facts but the run up to testing the nuclear bomb is thrilling and makes you get up and applaud the real heroes behind the actual testing. Kudos to all the actors and director for bringing that vision on screen. Strongly recommended !!!

This movie is really good if you watch this and experience it. I feel every Indian should go and watch this movie. Inspired by true events this movie is really a hit! Giving this movie a 4-star rating because I feel this movie would have many more good parts and maybe it could have been exceeded by time as well. Many real clips added to this movie makes it more interesting to watch and get on with the story which actually needs to be shown by the movie director and all. John is back with this movie and It's really good to see his acting and focus with his role as a I.A.S officer and other roles as well which he supported. well all others in the movie are nevertheless done good acting and played the role very well which makes this movie look like its actually happening. The story which has been shown was really not known by many, its the history of our country INDIA and there is no wrong to say that every indian must know this history and get aware of the powers our country has! overall direction is good, i think people should directly go and watch this movie instead of me writing such a long review , this is really boring but yes the movie is NOT!visit your nearest theatres now if they are still showing this movie then go ahead and watch it guys and girls!

NYC movie which shows about India's second successful nuclear test of may 1998 held under leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and guidance of our great ex-president APJ Abdul Kalam. Best way to present such a historic moment of our country. A true patriot will definitely get goosebumps while watching movie. John was at his level best. Songs are NYC. Overall a good heart touching movie

Paramanu : the story of Pokhran is a good acceptable thriller which tells you the story of India's one of the most initial Nuclear Test conducted by India. Story starts in 1995 where an unsuccessful attempt is made because of lack of interest and focus of politicians; but opportunity knocks on John's door in 1998 where one of chief officer (Bomon Irani) shows interest and willingness in that idea. John is back to work and audience get ready to witness the preparation of testing nuclear weapons. To keep the operation covert is the biggest challenge ahead of the team because there is spy from Pakistan & satellites through which USA is keeping eye. Now to watch how they keep up with the operation going on with avoiding the satellites is the most intriguing and fun part of the movie. You know how it will end but it succeeds in creating that urgency and excitement, especially in the second half. First half has its own unwanted scenes which could have been avoided i.e. John's wife accusing him of being unfaithful and all, which creates unintentional humour in such serious situation. Screenplay is mostly good but it could have been more crispier if some scenes were edited. John Abraham does his best as a patriotic R&D officer, Diana did a faithful job and Boman is amazing as always with other cast. Overall Abhishek Sharma directorial is an entertaining movie providing a glance inone of chapters of Indian history.John and all other producers should be encouraged for choosing such a winner subject.

Story of movie is very good. it is very heart touching and real story of indian history, which is not known to many. A good direction could have made it best choice for academy awards. Acting is normal, not extraordinary. not many unnecessary songs. there are many loopholes in the movie.

John Abraham despite all his limitations as an actor is extremely earnest not only in his performance but also in his intention to tell the Pokharan tale. His most honest moment comes towards the end when he breaks down in tears. Boman Irani is a delight to watch. He gives a controlled and classy performance as the PM's secretary. Despite resorting to some very obvious tricks, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran remains noble in its intention of telling a historic tale that made every Indian proud. It's a good one time watch.

Movie set up is great, it started off from the place where most people can understand where this is going. John Abraham had a very responsible role. They give you a general idea of scientists but leave you confused in guessing which scientist was who in real life. Overall, keeps you hooked to it till the end and it's nice to know about the struggles that India had to face to be one of the greatest nuclear states in the world

Parmanu is based on the historic event of nuclear test conducted by India during 1998. Plot is simple execution is very much complex . Some drama mix with real life incidents to make it filmy experience. Good part of the movie is the way things were detailed in a simple manner how India has to keep the mission secretive and plan to it a secret . Bad part was the unnecessary family drama of John Abraham's character with his wife which was quite annoying and completely takes you out of the zone. Some things were over dramatized and if kept simple would have worked in favour of the movie as it was dealing with the real incident. Overall it was a one time entertainer but would have been better if direction was more good.

First word that's come from my heart by watching this spectacular and amazing movie is simply "wow" . This abhisek sharma directorial movie shows the fineness acting as the way John abhram , boman Irani and other actors show how India achieve the new fit in national security despite of international restrictions and other stuffs from neighbor countries is absolutely marvelous and spectacular . Their fine sense of acting is a perfect tribute to the person who is behind this success, the former president and well known scientist Dr APJ ABDUL KALAM. The flawless acting and narration of the story will not allow to close your eyes for a moment. Its a must watch movie for every Indian to get to know about the heroic activities of our national hero's for the sake of our country. Last but not the least , my suggestion is don't watch the movie for yourself watch it for your country and show your patriotism.

A must watch, informative movie for everyone, especially Indians Not often that I write about Hindi movies, but I certainly had to write about Parmanu - the story of Pokhran. Such a good movie that was. It basically depicted the secret nuclear operation carried out by the Indian Army under the guidance of Dr. Abdul Kalam in 1998, which is considered one of the best secret operations carried out by a country. It brought immense pride to me as an Indian while watching that movie, just to see the way the operation was carried out. It was refreshing to see John Abraham in such a good role where he didn't have to flaunt his biceps or six pack, etc. Really liked his portrayal of the character of Ashwat Raina. Another eye catcher to me was Boman Irani, as I'm catching him on screen after a while now. His role of a top government official was enhanced with his experience as an actor. There were a few other pivotal characters who were effective enough on screen. The best thing apart from the performances to me were the fact that this was a movie devoid of illogical stunt sequences, item or party songs and other unwanted commercial aspects. It stayed pure to its intention and to me, this is the type of Bollywood I personally want to see. This was quite informative in many ways and there might be quite a few like me who wouldn't have heard a lot about this mission until now. After coming out of the theatre, I felt proud as an Indian that such a challenging operation was carried out with such braveness and to extreme perfection under the leadership of Dr. Kalam himself. While we criticise many aspects of our country, I think this movie would be a good way to appreciate such incidents and also India's growth as a nation since then. A must watch in theatre for every Indian. Jai Hind.

It will give you goosebumps On 11th May, 1998, India was declared a nuclear state despite facing major opposition from world leaders including USA. It was a historic day for each and every Indian as it showed the world that India can be a supreme power. Does Parmanu : The Story Of Pokhran do justice to the events that eventually led to the nuclear test successfully conducted at Pokhran, Rajasthan ? Let us find out .. After failed attempts to carry out the plans to execute the nuclear test, Capt. Ashwat Raina (John Abraham) loses hope and retires from his professional life. Thanks to Himanshu Shukla (Boman Irani), Principle secretary to the Prime Minister, the project to carry out nuclear test is restarted and he wants Ashwat to lead the team at Pokhran and at the same time prove his mettle. From director of Tere Bin Laden, Abhishek Sharma chooses a subject which was never told and probably forgotten. The successful nuclear test was lead by Dr. Abdul Kalam and all the drama and events behind the project is recommended to be told to the entire world. The film will not impress initially as it takes time to build the story and characters. Infact, it felt like watching an average film on Pokhran nuclear test till the first half. But the mood of the film completely changes in the second half. The screenplay gathers steam and builds tension around the scenes. The film delivers a knock-out punch and should impress the audience. Icing on the cake is the humor coupled with outstanding climax which makes it worth-watching. I liked the editing of the film which gets covered in a span of 2 hours along with some great cinematography. Art direction is superb along with remarkable dialogues which goes well with the film. I wish Screenplay could have been tighter to make it an eventful film. Music was another let down where it does not incite the patriotic feeling. Performances were good with John Abraham doing fine while rest of the star cast was passable.

The Kind of Movie Bollywood Needs We have people blaming #Bollywood movies for content all year long and when a good film releases there's no one to watch it. Intentionally watched #Parmanu with 50% occupancy and what a film it is!! Such stories need to be told, these are the stories which children need to know. And not movies on Sanjay Dutt, not movies on Dawood, Haseena Parkar, etc. #Parmanu invokes patriotism in you and that's what should be remembered. Anyway will have people bashing the upcoming Race 3 and blaming the audience for taking it to 500cr. Whereas a Parmanu silently arrives and leaves without anyone noticing. Hope it gets what it deserves. An audience!!

Just watch this film. An epic proud Indian moment awaits you. It's a shame that I really had almost no idea about the event it's based on. That very event changed the world's perspective towards our nation and it was indeed a proud moment for us all. PARMANU: THE STORY OF POKHRAN is a mindblowing film. It not only stays true to the event but also makes sure that those who didn't know about it would be able to experience it in a stylish way. PARMANU is a very tightly scripted film. There are thrills, drama and some cool action. Everything is balanced so perfectly that I felt it couldn't get any better than this. There's almost no flaw to find and the lack of musical numbers ensures that a wider audience embraces the film. There are no commercial compromises, and the director has mixed all the elements perfectly to give you a touching patriotic story which proves that unsung heroes can be remembered and honoured on any day. John Abraham is fabulous in this film. He plays a different kind of role and impresses totally, especially in the climax and an action sequence in the second half. Well, I didn't really need to say that since we all know that he's an action hero. This time, he doesn't really play one, but still reminds us of the excellence with which he has mastered this genre. Boman Irani is extraordinary: give him any role and he's gonna play it his way, the perfect way. Diana Penty is impressive and her character is neatly written. Rest of the cast does a splendid job. The review would be incomplete without praising the film's director, Abhishek Sharma whose skilful direction has helped the film become what it became: A perfect entertainer and thought-provoking historical action drama/thriller which also allows for some natural humour to breathe in. Enough of the bashing by critics. This film is awesome and is capable to entertain all ages. PARMANU: THE STORY OF POKHRAN is much more than just a history lesson: it's a phenomenal historical saga which realizes its strengths and thus chooses to remain totally realistic. If you like action dramas/thrillers based on real events, then I would like to congratulate you, since you're definitely in for a treat.

Couldn't correlate few things like how John was working at such high post without being government servant? Or was it something like related to real life of some person or just created for movie? overall too good
